After a long hiatus, we are back in the groove again! School is in full swing; Daughter’s at a football game (already????) and Son is out with friends celebrating the weekend like you and I did in our early 20’s- just lookin’ for a reason to get together and celebrate! :-0)
We have some fabulous interviews in the vault but I have to tell you, I’m feeling a bit behind because usually by this time of the year, I’ve got 20+ interviews already edited and ready for my commentary… but this September, I only have 3. That’s right–THREE interviews!!! That’s IT! And they’re not even edited yet! Oh My my!
I’ve always been one to work ahead; in grade school, my teachers all laughed because I liked to get the textbooks before school started. They thought it was because I was one of those overachieving smart Indian kids… but really, it was because I had a really hard time with comprehension. It would take me days to read through one chapter. and even then, it was a miracle if I actually retained something I took in. By the time we read it together as a class, it all felt like new material to me anyway…
All that to say, it’s not typical for me to be this far behind in anything. BUT I’ve had to just go with the flow… do what I can do. The treatments I’ve been doing for (what we believe to be) Lyme Disease have left me sleepless at night and worn out during the day. I try to nap for 20 minutes or so every afternoon, but sometimes, it’s a real fitful thing…
Healing from this stealthy, weird autoimmune issue has eluded me for nearly 2 decades but I am feeling like this new protocol is working, long term…. I know like ya know a good melon… and my hair’s falling out in LARGE clumps! (that’s usually a sign that you’re detoxing effectively- like your friend who’s undergoing chemo/radiation…)
It’s definitely a long road. I’m taking so many vitamins, I could puke! and I haven’t had much margin to do many of the things I’ve wanted to do… like conducting and editing interviews. But after a few brushes with scary stuff and late night ER visits, I am more grateful than ever for life, for having a message to share and I’m grateful for you- for listening and sending me messages and for telling your friends to check out this show. It truly gives me a sense of purpose. I love having a deadline. (We’ll talk about the importance of having a creative outlet as part of the “4 Your Restore” system, which is all about the 4 things happy people do. I’m going to share that with you in the next couple of weeks.)
I will need your grace (and prayers) as we move into Season 5 of this podcast. Several of the first episodes will be solo for obvious reasons – and I’m getting to where I enjoy those more and more. Could it be I’m FINALLY getting used to the sound of my voice??? :-0) Plus, I’ve been writing a book and working on a screenplay during my down time and I want to keep you in the loop on those!
Soon, I will have more interviews ready for you. I’m really excited about the ones I have scheduled out already this fall. If you have suggestions or ideas for future guests, please shoot me an email and tell me who you’d like to hear from! Can’t wait to hear from you!!!
PS- If you are one of the kind folks who asked about contributing toward the cost of producing this podcast, we are certainly not gonna turn you away! Mama didn’t raise no fool! :-0) We’re so proud that we’ve been able to offer this labor of love to you free of charge for 2 years now. Thanks for caring!
